Avenue A | Razorfish Promotes Hounsell to Vice President Digital Media and Marketing



CHICAGO – Oct. 15, 2007  - Avenue A | Razorfish™, one of the largest interactive services firms in the world, has promoted Patrick Hounsell to the newly created position of vice president and general manager of Digital Media and Marketing for the Central region, based in the Chicago office of Avenue A | Razorfish. He previously served as vice president, client partner of Analytics in the company’s New York office.

"As the digital marketplace continues to rapidly change, it is important to take a more holistic approach to meet our clients' growing expectations," said Dave Friedman, president of the Central region of Avenue A | Razorfish. "In his new role, Patrick will focus on integrating and optimizing our efforts across all elements of the digital marketing mix." With nearly 130 employees in their Chicago office, the agency's local clients include AT&T and Kraft.

Hounsell’s role will encompass the company's existing media and search business and will include Email, Advanced Media Solutions, Business Intelligence, Advanced Optimization, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Analytics and site side targeting. Patrick will lead the development of the organization and partner with the offices to build deeper client relationships. Additionally, he will be a member of the regional leadership team, helping to set priorities and initiatives for the Central region, which encompasses more than 350 employees in offices in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago and Ft. Lauderdale.

Since joining Avenue A | Razorfish eight years ago, Hounsell has been a key member of the leadership team that built the New York office. His many accomplishments include working with some of the office's largest accounts, including Victoria’s Secret, JP Morgan Chase and Starwood Hotels. He brings a tremendous mix of subject matter expertise to his new role, as well as organization building skills. Patrick holds an M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia, where he largely concentrated in general management, and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
